ecotarium
Given the current condition of agricultural practice, an ‘ecotarium’ is proposed devoted to exposing the fallacies of contemporary industrial agriculture as well as developing agricultural technologies towards a sustainable future. This ecotarium is focused upon three major programatic concerns: education, direct interaction, and experimental development. The first of these concerns is addressed through an exhibition which aims to present the current condition of industrial agriculture. Second, the inclusion of self-contained environments housing the products of industrial agriculture alows the visitor to directly interact with, and experience the reality of industrial agriculture as well as the application of genetic modification within the industry. The program also includes a laboratory committed to developing the use of agricultural technologies with an ecological and moral concern as opposed to economical and political concerns that dominate the intentions of contemporary industrial agricultural practice.
