individualized aggregation
This project began with a short clip of a street break-dance performance from the 1983 film Flashdance. From this video clip the form of the body was studied as a function of space and time. Study of the body was extrapolated into three-dimensional form, then deconstructed into its individual elements, and ultimately reconstructed into a singular form capable of aggregating into a variety of larger, more complex installations. These individual units when aggregated into a larger form act within a field to produced a screen like condition, or the units can be combined to form a three-dimensional instilation. A prototype of the form was then produced by CNC milling a formwork and subsequently casting the form.
